Welcome to my office-previously my 2-year-old’s bedroom! As soon as Axel made up his mind to move into Jameson’s room and sleep in a big boy bed, my tears quickly turned into a dream. A dream for a space of my own filled with femininity (hard to come by when you live with all boys) and of course-glam! A big thank you goes to my friend JoBeth from JJfinds&designs for being my sounding board of ideas and at times, my personal shopper.
Desk Area
Desk | Chair | Name Plate | Bling Pens | Tumbler | Flameless Candles | Mousepad | Rug
~Desk: I wanted an open concept that was basic in structure, and of course-affordable. This one was perfect for my color scheme with the gold legs (they even have a bit of shimmer) and white top. Super easy to put together too!
~Chair: Finding a desk chair is tough, but when I saw this one, I knew it was the one. The perfect shade of lilac makes it the star of the room. The velvet fabric looks and feels luxurious. Another easy one to put together.
~Accessories: Can’t have a desk without some trinkets! I personalized my own name plate and am loving it! Added some glam with a mirrored organizer JoBeth found for me at TJ Maxx, and threw in some bling pens. Coffee is a must while working, so a cute tumbler was a necessity. JoBeth found me some pretty candle holders at TJ Maxx that paired perfect with my flameless candles. She also arranged some fake flowers from Hobby Lobby in a vase I already owned. To complete the area I found a marble mousepad.
Rug: I wanted to add some texture to the space and break up the color pattern. I found the perfect addition! The shag material, braided detail, and diamond pattern really added some depth.
Bookcase
~I was hoping the bookcase would help convey the look I was going for and it certainly did! The gold finish, design, and glass shelves are the perfect combination to bring that sophisticated glam. For me, I wanted an aesthetically pleasing way to display my favorite accessories. I plan on changing up the items throughout the year.
Wall Details
Fashion Art Prints | Fashion Art Mailed
~From the beginning, I knew I wanted fashion art in the room. I discovered some amazing options that can be completely personalized on Etsy. The process was super quick and I could preview it every step of the way. You can either have it mailed or print them out yourself. JoBeth found me gorgeous hanging frames at Hobby Lobby.
~Decals: I originally thought of doing a wallpaper accent wall. JoBeth had the easier and more affordable idea of wall stickers. I am so impressed by them and the way they made the wall come alive. Tip: Tape them to the wall first to ensure you are happy with placement (the flowers are individual pieces so you decide on the design).
Accent Table/Storage Basket/Pillows
Accent Table | Spray Paint | Storage Basket | Similar Throw | Faux Fur Pillow | Pillow Inserts
~A little DIY for the art corner. I kept an accent table from the nursery, spray painted it gold (along with my silver curtain rod), and voilà -a whole new look! Added a large storage basket with some frilly details, a faux fur pillow, and a plush throw (this is an oldie from TJ Maxx, but similar to my Amazon throw that I love), to make it a welcoming, cozy space.
Fiddle Leaf Tree
Tree | Basket | Similar Lamp
~JoBeth is all about the greenery so she found me the perfect corner faux plant. I went for the 6’ option to create some height when placed next the gorgeous floor lamp (TJ Maxx find…but here is a similar lamp). Finishing touch was to place it in a cute little storage basket to match a larger one in the room.
Mirror Area
Faux Fur Rug | Ring Light | Similar Mirror | Similar Bench
~Inside lighting is usually less than ideal so my ring light has been a life saver. I added a small faux fur rug to add some more texture. The bench was from TJ Maxxx (but here’s a similar one) and the mirror was a HomeGoods find (here is a similar one).
The Accessories
I need a spot to hang my accessories and this pretty rack from Hobby Lobby was the perfect fit (similar rack).
Saved the best for last, and oh did I search for this one. Light fixtures are crazy expensive, but I managed to find an affordable one! The ceiling fan had to go and this gorgeous piece completely transformed the room. Glam glam and more glam. TJ and I teamed up to hang all of the crystal pieces and it only took us around 20 minutes.
Here’s what my office looked like when it was Axel’s room — it’s come a long way!
