While I am missing my beach and pool time terribly, I am excited for sweater weather season because every weekend seems to be filled with something fun. Last weekend we went on a ghost walk through our town – not gonna lie, kind of freaked me out a little. And this weekend we are going to pick out our pumpkins – always a fun tradition! Hoping we don’t forget to carve them before Halloween hits this year (somehow we never end up getting to it). Between all the fun activities, and celebrations at my kids’ schools, I was on the lookout for cute and comfy sweaters to create some casual looks.
5. Your trust means everything! One big oops over the summer and I really gained a whole new perspective. I jumped on an Amazon deal that sounded too good to be true and posted it on my FB page …and guess what, it was too good to be true! I usually don’t post unless I’ve tried the item myself or it is something that I would love and has raving reviews (because reality is, I can’t buy everything, although I’d love to).
I began writing this post in my head for a few months, never thinking I would actually type it out and share. But I think it’s only fair to give you all a life update, and who knows - maybe some inspiration? I can’t begin without thanking you all from the bottom of my heart first. Your support, messages, clicking on like, and following along with me, have given me the power and confidence to pursue this next chapter. Now let’s get started…5.THE CONSJust like any job, there are pros and cons to
You know that panicky feeling you get when you are down to your last drop of makeup and realize you won’t have time to stop by the store to pick up more? You will it to last just a couple more days until you can run some errands or wait for more to ship. But you know that the reality is you'll never be able to make it stretch. Being the procrastinator that I am, I'll admit this has happened to me more than once. I feel so naked when I’m without my favorite products, even if I have everything on
As you’re rushing everyone out the door you have a nagging feeling you are forgetting something. Everyone is piling in the car and you notice your child has total bed head (oh well), toothpaste residue on his face and shirt (at least he brushed his teeth), and either picked his outfit out in the dark or lacks all fashion sense (but all you can do is shrug because you are just happy he dressed himself). Then it hits you – today’s picture day!You run upstairs and tear his closet apart looking for
I get a ton of questions regarding how I stay fit and promised I’d write a blog post. So here it is!Fortunately I have good genetics (thanks mom and dad!). Unfortunately genetics aren’t everything, and as I get older I’m noticing it’s taking more work (ugh) to stay slim and keep healthy. I try my best to get in a challenging workout at least four times a week (but I don’t beat myself up if that doesn’t happen) and follow the 80/20 rule when it comes to eating healthy (which I enjoy, but there
I’ve mentioned a few times that I’m a summer girl through and through, but as a kid I was always excited for the start of a new school year because it meant shopping for new clothes! And having an end of summer birthday was always a bonus because I would take my birthday money and go to town.Unfortunately my boys aren’t as crazy about clothes (or shopping) as I am (actually they’ll do pretty much anything to get out of it). But I love shopping for them, and they actually got excited about my
The smocked top is one trend I’m so happy to see making its return this summer. So comfy, hugs all the right places, and creates a flattering fit. I've been filling my closet with all the smocked things - tops, dresses, and bathing suits. I always go for the peplum, so when I spotted this smocked top at Walmart (love partnering with them for their We Dress America campaign), I couldn’t help but add it to my cart. I’ve seen similar tops at boutiques for more than triple this $10 price tag. While
I find a way to add on the layers with clothing, no matter the season. All winter I was about the heavy cardis, sweatshirts and Sherpas (partly because I can't deal with the cold, partly because there were so many cute ones), and right now I'm into the open weave cardis and kimonos (because most of the time I'm still cold haha). However, the temps are rising. And when it's too hot to add any more clothing, I pile on the bracelets! I just can't handle it when my arms are completely bare (maybe
